Our Summer in Brief

I haven't posted in over a month, the kid's summer vacation is almost over. We've had a busy summer.

Ailbhe, Fiacra, and Finian in Pau

We were very excited to see the Burns family. We spent a few days in the Pyrenees, a few days in Bordeaux and then a week together in Ireland. We also saw Tyandra and Bill in Galway. It was wonderful to have friends again.

The kids and I stayed for a second week in Ireland. Fiacra and Ailbhe loved being with their cousins.

When we got back to Bordeaux, Paddy, Alison, Abby and Megan were waiting for us. It was great to see them. We spent a few days at home and then went to the Dordogne for a week.

We have spent the last week and a half relaxing at home and that is our summer in brief. I plan to do lots of posts from the summer in the next few weeks when school exhausts the kids and the weather is cooler and they're in bed before 9pm!

Acting My Age

Age is just a number. And eventually it gets BIG.

When I turned 40 last month, the fine people of Cork honoured me with a mosaic - I guess. Either that, or the floor inside this open door was trying to lure me in: Ooooh Connell ...

Outside with a guy we picked up.

A minute later we were all doing the All Blacks Haka.

The next day, we were off to Galway.

Larry, Curly and Moe - in no particular order

Where would we be without our wives?

Drinking pints, of course
